How to Record Your Eye Video
Follow these simple steps to capture a clean, analyzable slow‑motion eye video.
1. Camera Setup
- Use your phone’s front facing camera on slow‑motion mode (atleast 120 FPS recommended).
- Hold the phone vertically and keep it stable.
- Make sure your head fills most of the frame, is centered, is straight-on to the camera, and is in focus.
- Avoid strong reflections or backlighting.
2. Recording the Video
- Look straight ahead into the phone's camera (both of your eyes should be centered in their eye socket).
- Keep your head still — only your eyes should move.
- Record for at least 1-2 seconds while looking at the phone's camera before looking at the top bridge of your nose (directly between your eyes).
- Continue to record for another 1-2 seconds while looking at the top bridge of your nose.
- The goal is that there is 1-2 seconds before and after your actual eye movement to ensure that the phone is capturing in slow-motion (higher frame rate).
3. Trimming the Clip
- Edit and trim the video so it starts with your eyes looking straight at the camera and ends with your eyes looking cross-eyed at your nose.
- Remove as much of the video as possible outside of the eye movement events.
- Save the video (overwritten the old video).
4. Uploading
- Return to the upload page and select your video to begin processing.
- Wait for processing to complete — you’ll see a progress bar.
